   2010 Superbowl: Saint’s Go Marching In. Rated PG 13

   So I was actually watching the Superbowl this year, not just for the commercials, and what kept me from just skipping the plays was something I saw on tumblr. Specifically, an article on “If Hollywood directed the Superbowl” or something like that. With that in mind, I did picture it like a movie; a good movie, not a typical Hollywood movie…

   The whole time I was drawn in by the Saints as the underdog team who had never won a Superbowl going against the team everyone expected to win, the Colts. It was a classic sports movie script. In the beginning of the game you had the antagonists in the lead! And the whole first quarter I was softly murmuring “oh no…” to myself. “Poor Saints”, I thought to myself. This movie had me right at the beginning.

   But what happens in these typical sports movies? Halfway through there’s some inspirational speech prepared by the Saints head coach (if I had to cast somebody for him, it’d be Bruce Willis) during The Who’s halftime show. The team gets pumped and they make completely ballsy plays that lead them to victory!

   The plot isn’t very original, but none the less it drew me in and inspired me as an audience member. What puts the icing on this cake is that it’s based on the Truth! New Orleans needed their spirits lifted since the hurricane, and the perfect way to do that would have been something as big as a Superbowl win! I’d love to go see that movie, and there better not be too many puns or it’ll lose the inspirational vibe.
